Non-Canon Week: Peter/Bella- Pieces of Me by LifelessLyndsey

 

So what is our definition of Non-Canon? Anything that doesn't have Edward and Bella together. So this week, we are exploring the stories with Bella and other main characters. May it be Bella/Jasper, Bella/Carlisle, Bella/Emmett, Bella/Jake, Bella/Embry, or Bella/Peter. And yes. Those are the couples we are doing. I'm not telling you where each one falls, you can find out for yourself over the week. But this is our mission this week. To introduce you to the stories out there that don't have Bella and Edward together. Because let's face it. Not everyone thinks that Bella and Edward are meant to be together. I'm a reader that loves Bella and Edward together, but I do love reading stories where Edward has left, or Bella naturally gravitates to another man. It's just the way I am. As an author, I write my stories with Bella and Jasper. The closest I have ever come to Bella and Edward together was the oneshot I did with NCChris with Bella, Edward, and Seth. But that's a story for another time. For today, lets focus on the Bella/Peter story I picked.

The story Pieces of Me by Lifeless Lyndsey was a story I stumbled upon. I think. That or NCChris told me to read it when I told her I fell in love with Gateway. And yes, I know. Gateway is a Peter/Bella story. Why didn't I rec that one? Because we've already rec'd it on the blog. But Pieces of Me is a story that is easy to fall in love with.

FFn Summary: He was confused, man. Who was this human? "What the fuck would I want with you're little fucking human pet anyway. I don't play with my food before I eat it. Why the fuck did you bring her here?" He spat. Little did he know, Bella was his salvation.

My Summary: Bella realizes that Edward has this power over her, and leaves. Jasper takes her to the one place he feels she will be safe. However, what happens when that one place holds a very pissed off non-vegetarian vampire? What happens when the girl brought to him for protection falls in love with him? And what happens when his ex-wife comes back to town?

Review: There are a million and one reasons why I can tell you to read this story. There are a ton of amazing original characters to fall in love with. And Bella isn't your normal you left me and now I'm going to go crawl into a ditch and be miserable. She's strong and she's willing to kick your ass. Just like Peter. And she doesn't take no for an answer. 

Throughout the story you see a couple of characters that you fall head over heels for. One of them being Peter. There's just something about that man that drives you insane. Then there is Jasper. The protective Big Brother that pretty much tells Peter you hurt her you fucking die. Which, of course, reminds us all of Major Whitlock and sends us into a tizzy.

Chapter 6 brings us one of my favorite moments in the story and that's when Bella gets high and tells Jasper and Peter a lot of the things she's done. Imagine telling Edward about the motorcycles and then add on Cliffdiving and riding Jake as a wolf. Oh. And the weed. All the while, Bella is high and her emotions are haywire. It's a classic moment.

Like I said, there are some very endearing original characters. And one I have come to know and love is Elijah. He is a fourteen year old kid that was changed into a vampire. Both Peter and Jasper know and love him. But it's Bella that turns Elijah into a Whitlock.

And yes. Bella and Peter are Whitlocks.

The drama with this story comes from Edward for a while, then the focus turns to Maria and Charlotte. The clues were there the entire time, it was just a matter of seeing them.

Go read it. It's one of my favorite stories.
